Business professionals new to employee ownership or those who are part of an established employee-owned company interested in finding viable ways to enhance the growth of their organization are invited to participate in the upcoming "Employee Ownership Management" course. The class will be offered by the Beyster Institute, Oct. 2-5, 2011, to be held at the Rady School of Management on the UCSD campus. This comprehensive three-day program will offer participants effective tools and valuable insights in transforming their current company challenges into opportunities. Led by a team of seasoned educators and facilitators in the field of employee ownership, fundamental topics and practical implementation processes will be explored including:

  • Establishing a foundation for a mission-focused, companywide team culture
  • Increasing the rate of innovation and positive change
  • New marketing directions, including branding your company so that it is seen both internally and externally as a special place
  • Recruiting and retaining entrepreneurial people who respond to the idea of building wealth through ownership
  • Accessing unique tax advantages to increase after-tax income and cash reserves

Conference participants from the previous eight years have benefited from the lessons learned, through networking and sharing experiences with peers through the directed and interactive group discussions. The "Employee Ownership Management" course is open for registration for a limited number of participants. The month following the "Employee Ownership Management" course, please set your calendar to join us on Thursday, Nov. 17 on campus for a high-level discussion targeted for directors of planned giving and development officers. The "Innovative Approaches to Effective Estate Planning: Funding Charitable Giving" seminar will provide necessary information related to addressing estate-planning problems and assist in implementing effective long-term funding strategies. Sponsored by Wells Fargo Investements, Inc., this three-hour special event will be held on the UCSD campus with lunch provided during the networking hour following the two-hour session.
