Terra Saltzman-Baker, Director Career Connections
Terra Saltzman-Baker joined the Rady School of Management team as Director, Rady Graduate Career Connections in December 2013. In this role, she continues to build upon existing corporate relationships, strategizes new partnerships, creates and executes on Rady recruiting activities - all to increase the visibility of Rady students for internship and full time opportunities and to work with Rady alumni on career transitions.
Terra’s background includes nearly five years as the Corporate Relations Manager with the University of San Diego’s MBA program. The position was cultivated by her connections and efforts to distinguish the USD MBA and increase program reputation at a local and national level. This was achieved through targeted outreach and creative corporate partnerships. The foundation of her experience developed from five years of recruiting in San Diego for finance and accounting positions with nationally-based staffing firm Ajilon and two years of nation-wide recruiting in corporate retail with Marc-Allen Associates.Terra is currently in the process of getting her Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at USD.
Rachel Helmer, Careers Program/Event Manager
Rachel joined the Graduate Career Connections Team in March 2015. Rachel's role is to work with employers to plan company presentations, panel discussions, interviews and career fairs, providing the students an avenue for meeting with companies on a personal level. She also works to strengthen and grow Rady corporate partners. Rachel is responsible for planning career fairs, corporate activities with students and corporate visits and treks. She also works with student organizations, assisting with club activities such as company visits and treks, company information panels and recruitment presentations.
Rachel obtained her degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from San Diego State University. She worked in the hotel industry for several years as a Catering & Convention Services Manager before deciding Higher Education was the place for her. She comes to us most recently from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she was a Conference & Event Coordinator for the Student Union.
Phillip McMullen, Career Consultant
Phillip McMullen joined the Rady School of Management in July 2016 as a member of an experienced team of Career Consultants and Employer Relations Managers.
Phillip has seventeen years of graduate career services experience and relocated from Boston, MA where he held career director roles at both The Fletcher School at Tufts University and MIT Sloan. Prior to his work in academia, Phillip spent almost fifteen years in a corporate setting where he held senior managerial roles in finance and operations for several large multinational technology companies. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and Latin America and traveled to over 45 countries. He completed his Masters in International Management from Thunderbird and his Bachelor in Arts with a double major in English and German from Colorado State University, with formal studies also completed at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and the University of Regensburg in Germany. add Jeanette Meliska-Romero, Career Consultant
Jeanette Meliska-Romero, Career Consultant
Jeanette joined the Rady School of Management team in August 2016. She consults, advises, and mentors graduate students in the MBA, Finance, and Business Analytics programs. With eight years of professional development and career counseling experience, Jeanette has a strong skill set in career exploration, job search, and resume/cover letter development. She also possesses a Master of Science Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Development in Higher Education and is very passionate about serving under represented populations, which includes students with disabilities.
Kathy Self, Career Consultant
Kathy Self joined Rady School of Management in October 2015 to support graduate students in navigating the job search process. Kathy is a dedicated career development professional, skilled at assisting individuals with identifying strengths as well as leveraging experiences and contacts to target career opportunities. She is passionate about empowering candidates through the development of key job search skills, including interview techniques, networking strategies, and resume construction.
Kathy earned her Bachelors from Wells College and her Masters in Career Counseling from the University of San Diego. Prior to joining the Rady team she managed career development on behalf of the Dean and Executive Director of San Diego State University’s College of Business Administration and Career Services. Kathy also developed innovative job search programming and advised students at UC San Diego’s main campus Career Center. During her seven years on main campus she focused on supporting business and engineering students as well as specialized in advising students with disabilities and international students. She is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and qualified to explore interests with the Strong Interest Inventory® and CareerLeader assessments.
Rosilynn Tillett, Career Consultant
Rosilynn Pennywell joined the Rady School of Management in June 2014 as a Graduate Career Advisor. Rosilynn advises Rady graduate students on career planning, including career management tools, tips for navigating through their internship and career-search and international hiring processes. In addition to advising, she focuses on developing and facilitating Rady@Work group sessions. She organizes deep-dive careers session during orientation, mock interviews with alumni and various other career-search programs to help Rady Graduate students explore the marketplace.
Prior to joining the Rady School, Rosilynn worked for 14 years in the technology industry and has over 10 years of experience in the areas of staffing and university recruitment. She comes to us from a role as a University Recruiter/Programs Manager at HP, where she managed key university partnerships and coordinated corporate recruiting events. She is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and received her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University.
Linda Kurtz, Rady Flex and Alumni Career Coach
Linda Kurtz joined the Rady School of Management Career Connections team in May 2015 to support the FlexMBA program students and Rady Alumni. In this role, Linda will partner with students and alumni on crafting a career vision and developing career strategies for achieving career goals.
Linda is a certified Career Coach and credentialed Human Resources professional. She has worked with a variety of organizations and professionals representing Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, technology firms and start-ups facilitating talent acquisition, performance management, and career development. As a Career Coach, Linda works with individuals and small groups providing personalized coaching, tactics and strategies for thriving and moving forward. Linda is passionate about connecting to a career path that matches personal values and interests. Linda earned her business degree from SDSU and coaching credentials from both Chapman and UCSD. Linda serves as a resource for non-profit organizations serving the unemployed in San Diego, and facilitates professional networking forums.
Yvonne Wu, Graduate Careers Assistant
Yvonne Wu joined the Graduate Career Connections Team as the Careers Assistant in September 2015. In this role, she will support the fast-paced department at the Rady School of Management, assisting Career Advisors, Careers Program Manager, Corporate recruiters, graduate students, and other UCSD/Rady staff.
Yvonne previously worked at Cal State Fullerton for almost 8 years as an administrative support assistant in the Mathematics Department. She obtained an MBA with an emphasis in Hospitality Management from Cal Poly Pomona.
