Terra Saltzman-Baker, Director Career Connections
Terra Saltzman-Baker joined the Rady School of Management team as Director, Rady Graduate Career Connections in December 2013. In this role, she will continue to build upon existing corporate relationships, strategize new partnerships, create and execute on Rady recruiting activities - all to increase the visibility of Rady students for internship and full time opportunities and work with Rady alumni on career transitions.
Terra’s background includes nearly five years as the Corporate Relations Manager with the University of San Diego’s MBA program. The position was cultivated by her connections and efforts to distinguish the USD MBA and increase program reputation at a local and national level. This was achieved through targeted outreach and creative corporate partnerships. The foundation of her experience developed from five years of recruiting in San Diego for finance and accounting positions with nationally-based staffing firm Ajilon and two years of nation-wide recruiting in corporate retail with Marc-Allen Associates.
Danelle Boone, Graduate Career Advisor
Danelle Boone joined us in July 2014 as Graduate Career Advisor, with a focus on working with our new Master of Finance students. Danelle advises students on career planning, including how to navigate the internship and job search processes. In addition to advising, Danelle also coordinates information sessions, seminars and workshops to help students learn more about various industries and employers, as well as how to network, interview and research career options.
Danelle has had an extensive career in both international education and career development, including working at the International Center and Career Services Center at UC San Diego, and as a Career Counselor at UCLA. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling, with a Career Counseling Specialization and has been a Career Counselor for over ten years.
Kim Higgins, Rady Flex and Alumni Career Coach
Kim Higgins joined the Rady Careers Team in Spring 2013, supporting the Flex Evening and Flex Weekend MBA students. Through her continued work and increased visibility within Rady, Kim has now taken on the additional responsibility as a dedicated coach to all Rady Alumni. The alumni coaching program was launched in May 2014.
Kim is a Certified Professional Career Coach and is focused on helping you to identify and navigate your ideal career path. She is certified through the governing body of the International Coach federation, completing a coach training program in 2007 and obtaining more than 1000 hours of coaching with clients, mostly with early to mid-career professionals. Her career started in Human Resources which lead to 10 years in administration, recruiting, and training and development for companies (including: Ford Motor Company and TaylorMade adidas Golf). Kim began her career in Counseling and Social work – receiving a degree in Social Science from Cal Poly SLO.
Chris Kelly, Careers Program Manager
Chris Kelly is the Careers Program Manager for the Career Connections team. Chris's role is to work with employers to plan company presentations, panel discussions, interviews and career fairs, providing the students an avenue for meeting with companies on a personal level. She also works to strengthen and grow Rady corporate partners. Chris is responsible for planning career fairs, corporate activities with students and corporate visits and treks. She also works with student organizations, assisting with club activities such as company visits and treks, company information panels and recruitment presentations.
Prior to working in the Careers Department, Chris coordinated the Middle East Entrepreneur Training (MEET) programs and activities for the Rady School under a State Department funded grant and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). Chris has lived and worked in over 30 countries across Europe, South America and Asia. She has more than 20 years of international project management experience which included management system implementations in over 25 countries, and designing and writing training materials and implementation documentation. She attended University of California, Berkeley.
Rosilynn Pennywell, MBA Career Advisor
Rosilynn Pennywell joined us in June 2014 as MBA Career Advisor. Rosilynn coaches first and second year MBA students on how to navigate through the internship and career-search process. In addition to coaching, she organizes a deep-dive careers session during orientation, Rady@Work group sessions, alumni mock interviews and various other career-search programs to help MBAs explore the marketplace.
Prior to joining the Rady School, Rosilynn worked for 13 years in the technology industry, ten years of experience in the areas of staffing and university recruitment. She comes to us from a role as University Recruiter/Programs Manager at HP, where she managed key university partnerships and coordinated corporate recruiting events. She is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and received her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University.
Leanne Taylor, Careers Program Coordinator
Leanne Taylor joined the Rady Graduate Careers Team in May 2014 as the Careers Coordinator. She most recently assisted in the Rady Admissions Department before starting with Careers full time. Leanne provides information to students, corporate visitors and potential employers about events and job/internship postings. Leanne also assists in the successful planning of career events. She plays a key role in supporting the international students at Rady, giving them additional support in their career development and job and internship searches.
A native of Central California, Leanne re-located to Southern California to attend San Diego State University. As a SDSU graduate, she gained experience through an internship (which then turned into a full time position) with a local non-profit museum. Leanne supports the Careers Department through different areas of experience, including: networking, leadership and outreach.
