The Social Venture Accelerator (SVA) is designed to support students interested in creating social impact through entrepreneurship. SVA helps them to pursue their dreams of starting innovative, scalable, companies addressing important social issues.
SVA teams participate in workshops where they explore social entrepreneurship and focus on the various aspects of launching a startup. They are supported by a team of mentors and advisors with experience in social entrepreneurship.
SVA has developed from the recognition that students across UCSD show both a passion for addressing social issues and the ability to develop truly creative ideas to tackle these challenges. SVA is a joint project of the Rady School’s Center for Social Innovation and Impact (CSII) and California Institute for Innovation and Development (CIID).
Applications for SVA are accepted once a year. Open to students across the UC San Diego campus, SVA focuses on socially impactful ideas and innovations. Individuals and teams at all stages of development are encouraged to apply.
- Applications for SVA will be available in early winter 2017.
- Accepted teams will participate in the SVA program through spring quarter.
- To receive notice of the opening of the application, please contact the Center for Social Innovation and Impact at email@example.com.
