mystartupXX program begins
Following review of applications, selected teams/individuals will be a part of a six-month accelerator program that includes bi-monthly workshops, intensive mentoring tailored to individual needs and one-on-one business coaching focused on validating the business idea and taking it to market.
mystartupxx participants will participate in a six month accelerator program that includes workshops focused on various aspects of launching a startup - team building and leadership, performing a market assessment and obtaining customers' feedback, creating a value proposition, validating business models and understanding financing strategies needed to launch the business.
Up to 10 teams per year are accepted into the mystartupXX program. Prototype is not required at the time of application and teams with ideas in all stages of development are welcome to apply. All applicants and alumni have access to the growing mystartupXX network and are invited to networking events.
All applicants will become members of the mystartupXX alumni organization focused on building a diverse, global network of innovators, influencers and leaders of technology companies.
All applicants will be invited to the mystartupXX demo, where the mystartupXX teams will present their ideas to program supporters, gain access to potential investors and receive valuable feedback for next steps.
While participating in the program, teams can access mystartupXX co-working space on campus.
Funding for select teams in the accelerator
- The program is open to all UC San Diego undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students, as well as recent alumni (no more than 5 years past graduation) with a business idea. A prototype is not required at the time of application.
- The applicant has to be willing to be the team leader. The team leader will receive assistance with the team building process. A team is not required at the time of application, however each team should have a woman in a leadership position. Diversity on the team is encouraged. Preferably, the team members will be UC San Diego students.
- If selected, the applicant has to be able to participate in all program activities
