TO FIT A BUSY SCHEDULE
A distinct advantage of ARELI is its unique, immersive program that integrates interactive classroom instruction with individualized and workplace-focused learning in a format that fits your busy schedule Over 10 months, you gain the equivalent of 10 weeks of leadership development while continuing to work in your current position.
Traditional senior executive programs require participants to devote six to eight continuous weeks of classroom lectures. They are away from their work for this extended period without the opportunity to immediately apply lessons learned in their normal work environments.
The ARELI approach is vastly different. One week a quarter is spent at the Rady School’s beautiful San Diego Campus participating in highly interactive classroom and group discussion settings. Additional online course content is provided between sessions and is combined with the program’s immersive, workplace-focused learning assignments. As opposed to the old style continuous format, this approach allows new knowledge and skills to be tried out and tested in the workplace immediately. Any challenges encountered during implementation can be remedied in real time with the assistance of a personal coach or during the next on-campus session. This methodology provides a far deeper assimilation and lasting application of developmental learning.
The Ayer-Rady Executive Leadership Institute provides an intimate learning experience unmatched by other programs. With small class sizes (limited to 25 participants) and one-on-one coaching between classroom sessions, the program fosters active, high-retention learning. Classes are taught by the Rady School’s world-renowned faculty and other highly regarded thought leaders, serving as highly accessible and engaging teachers and coaches. This accessibility can continue beyond the end of the program at the discretion of the participant.
The individualized Leadership Assessment evaluation is also a distinct component of the program, imparting key feedback on your development as a rising executive. Conducted at the start of the institute, it becomes a guide map on what particular competencies a participant should give emphasis. The results also provide a baseline for improvement measurements over the course of the program and beyond.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will receive a certificate indicating successful completion of the course of study. Even after the last day of the institute, participants have the opportunity to continue to learn and practice new techniques via the online ARELI newsletter and continued interaction with the institute faculty and staff. Equally important, the ARELI alumni organization is a great way to keep in touch with fellow participants with whom you have developed professional bonds during your experience.
