About the Program
Today’s corporate teams are commonly scattered around the world. Leading a team that has limited face-to-face contact presents challenges. Trust and communication are at the core of successful teamwork and they are harder to establish remotely. Conflict is also harder to detect and manage in dispersed teams. This class leverages VirBELA’s virtual world to offer a unique way of addressing these challenges. Participants engage in highly interactive activities to learn how to more effectively build trust and communication virtually, and to bring their own distributed teams to higher levels of performance.
Participants in Managing High Performing Distributed Teams will learn to:
- Know what to look for when hiring managers and employees for successful remote teamwork
- Establish communication and trust in virtual environments
- Choose the right tool for the task
- Manage conflict and deliver performance feedback in an appropriate manner
- Measure performance of "invisible" employees
- Combat social isolation and build team identity
This course provides solutions to the unique challenges of distributed teams such as:
- Monitoring performance
- Inspiring teamwork
- Maintaining culture
- Developing trust
- Building interpersonal relationships with limited face-to-face contact
- Coordinating across time zones and cultures
- Using state-of-the-art tools to manage virtually
