Ning holds an M.D. in Clinical Medicine from China Medical University.

As an M.D., why did you choose to return to school to get your MBA?

My mother was a businesswoman and has a successful career in Sino-U.S. business, which influenced me significantly, arousing my interest in business even when I was a physician. I started getting involved in an e-commerce business founded by my husband three years ago, and I was convinced that my interest and passion would always in business instead of medicine. Operating the family business enables me to realize my dream of being a successful businesswoman. However, I became aware of the professional tools and ideas needed for business competitiveness, which brought me to my current MBA program.

How do you feel a Rady MBA will affect your career?

I met the best MBA professors here at Rady, who are not only knowledgeable, but also eager to help students and glad to see them succeed. I look forward to becoming a successful and proud alumna.

Why did you choose the Rady School?

I’ve lived in San Diego for a long time. As the wife of a UC San Diego Ph.D. graduate and friend of a faculty member, I have faith in the quality of any program offered by the university, and believe Rady's MBA program will grow and prosper in the future. Moreover, Rady's MBA program focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation, which will benefit my start-up business.

As a Chinese student, what do you feel is the advantage to obtaining your MBA in the U.S.?

An MBA program in a country with advanced technology and business development provides me with the opportunity to obtain the latest business operation methodologies. Also, taking MBA courses in English helps me communicate and interact in various circumstances of business operation all over the world.

Is there anything else you would like to share about the Rady School or your career goals?

The Rady School is a young, but prosperous, business school. The faculty, staff and students are working hard to contribute to the value and reputation of the program. I'm very proud to be one of them.
