Rady School on Track to Receive AACSB Accreditation in 2011
The Rady School of Management is in the final stages of the accreditation process with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This is an important milestone for UC San Diego’s newest professional school. Prior to becoming eligible for accreditation, Rady School Dean Sullivan served on the board of the AACSB and the school has been an educational member of the AACSB since 2005.The Rady School is expected to receive initial accreditation from the AACSB in fall 2011. According to the AACSB’s Web site, the AACSB Accreditation Standards are “the basis to evaluate a business school’s mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions, programs and other critical areas.”

Rady School Military/Defense Club Sends Care Packages to Fellow Students
Members of the Rady School Military/Defense Club sent holiday care packages to three Rady MBAs currently deployed overseas. U.S. Marine and Rady MBA Eric Venn-Watson thanked his classmates, saying, “to have your support means a great deal to me and is making my time away from family and friends go by quickly.”
Rady Senior Teaching Assistant Anny Wei Wins Prestigious Kauffman Fellowship
Anny Wei, an economics Ph.D. student studying under Rady School Professor Kevin Zhu has been awarded the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship. The program annually recognizes exceptional doctoral students and Wei was only one of 15 students across the country who have been awarded fellowships to support their dissertation research in entrepreneurship. She received the award for a research project titled: “Public Policy, Competition and Entrepreneurship in Network Industries.”
This is the second time a member of the Rady community has been honored by the Kauffman Foundation. In 2006, Rady MBA Niall O’Donnell was named by the Center for Venture Education as a Kauffman Fellow. The Kauffman Fellows Program educates, develops and networks emerging leaders in the venture capital industry. Niall is now a principal with RiverVest Venture Partners.
UC San Diego Celebrates 50th Anniversary With On-Campus Events
