Rady School of Management Celebrates the Graduation of 110 MBA Students
On June 22, 2013, the Rady School of Management held a commencement ceremony for the MBA Class of 2013. The 110 MBA graduates were joined for the ceremony by over 600 family, friends and Rady School supporters. The commencement keynote speaker was Richard Atkinson, former president of the 10 campus University of California system and chancellor at the University of California, San Diego from 1980-1995.
Presiding over the ceremony, Rady School Dean Robert S. Sullivan spoke about the Class of 2013's potential impact in San Diego and around the globe. "The Class of 2013 has really been exceptional," said Sullivan. "But, we know that the most important contributions of the Class of 2013 have not been during the past two years. They lie ahead during the next years and decades to come in what you'll do for our communities and our society — in the difference and the impact we know you will make."
UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla also attended the ceremony and inspired graduates to pursue success and keep an open mind on how they define it. "Go after your big ideas, launch your new product or start a new company," Khosla said. "Find your success and remember that there are multiple definitions of success. Look up the word in the dictionary and you will see it described as the attainment of wealth, position or honor. But that's not the only definition. It's also about helping people, improving lives and making our planet better for future generations."
During the ceremony, Jerome S. Katzin received the inaugural Rady Founders' Medal for his generous support for the Rady School since its inception.
Students and alumni also took part in the ceremony, with Rodeece Dean (MBA '13) delivering the student commencement address and Kenneth Harris (MBA '08) delivering the alumni address.Go Back
