StartR Alumni Team Englue Disrupts Sales using Artificial Intelligence with Lead Generation Startup, LeadCrunch

After 20 years in sales, Englue co-founder and COO Sanjit Singh knew there had to be a better way to address the pain point of lead generation. Englue’s solution is their flagship product, LeadCrunch, which generates high precision B2B leads using artificial intelligence.

“It is like Pandora for salespeople,” said Englue co-founder and CEO Olin Hyde. “Only rather than finding music that you will like, it finds sales leads that are best suited to your business. Essentially, we data mine the clients of our customers and provide companies that are not only similar, but have exhibited behaviors that connote the greatest propensity to buy our customer’s offering in the near term.”

The Englue team learned about the Rady School’s StartR Accelerator program from other startups who went through the program including Alpine Labs, Lab Fellows, Skylit Medical and Talio. Jeff Chang (MBA ’14), VP of Product, is a Rady School alum and three of Englue’s five team members earned their masters degrees from UC San Diego, two of which they recruited through StartR.

“We could not have asked for a better support system for our startup,” said Hyde. “From day one, StartR provided us mentorship, free office space, numerous resources, investor introductions and an incredible lecture series. StartR also prepared us for the investor due diligence process, helped us formulate a cogent IP strategy and refine our messaging to investors.”

While in StartR, LeadCrunch was featured on online product discovery community, Product Hunt, putting Englue on the fast track. LeadCrunch was recently named a COOL company of 2015 by the San Diego Venture Group and will be featured in the December 2015 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine. During their Fall 2015 StartR Demo Day pitch, Englue announced to the Rady community and local investors a potential revenue pipeline of $14 million, calculated in total value of customers waiting for a LeadCrunch trial.

As StartR alumni, the next steps for the startup will focus on filling orders, customer satisfaction and leveraging support from investors in order to expand the team to scale business and awareness. Englue is also showing their support of other local San Diego businesses by offering them 100 free B2B leads. Early customers have already seen more than 300% improvement in sales qualification rates.

“StartR is a fantastic program that helped us with both business and technical resources,” said Hyde. “Every aspiring entrepreneur at the Rady School should apply to be a part of this program.”
