New Faculty Join the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego
Rady School Recruits Professors from Ivy League and Other Top Universities

The Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego today announced its faculty hires for the 2007-2008 academic year. Among the seven outstanding new faculty is Dr. Leif Nelson, formerly a marketing professor at New York University. In addition to Dr. Nelson, the scholars joining the Rady School have won awards from the National Science Foundation and the American Finance Association, and have received numerous teaching and research honors.
The new faculty at the Rady School have been recruited from Ivy League universities, such as Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania. Other top schools are represented in the new group of professors, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago.

The new faculty joining the Rady School include:
· Leif D. Nelson, assistant professor of marketing
Education: Ph.D. in psychology from Princeton University
Prior position: Assistant professor of marketing, New York University’s Stern School of Business
Research interests: Decision making and consumer choice
· Terrence August, assistant professor of innovation, technology and operations
Education: Ph.D. in operations, information and technology from Stanford University
Research interests: Network and software security and economics of information technology
· Sylvain Champonnois, assistant professor of finance
Education: Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University
Research interests: Corporate finance, international finance and macroeconomic theory
· Ayelet Gneezy, assistant professor of marketing
Education: Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Chicago
Research interests: Consumer suspicion, social judgments, ulterior motives
· Nikolay V. Halov, assistant professor of finance
Education: Ph.D. in finance from New York University
Research interests: Corporate finance, capital structure, asymmetric information, risk management and derivatives and short selling
· Dominique Olie Lauga, assistant professor of management and strategy
Education: Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Research interests: industrial organization, marketing strategy, microeconomic theory and behavioral economics
· Dongmei Li, assistant professor of finance
Education: Ph.D. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School
Research interests: Asset pricing, corporate finance, investments, financing of innovations and high-tech industries
