Ten New Members Elected to AACB International Board of Directors

Tampa, FL (February 17, 2009) — The membership of AACSB International has elected ten prominent management education and business professionals to its board of directors for 2009-2010. Terms will take effect July 1, 2009. Founded in 1916, AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, accredits 559 collegiate business schools in 32 countries and is governed by an international board of directors.

“We congratulate our new and returning board members, and thank them for their dedication and service,” said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International. “Comprised of members from across the world, our 2009-2010 Board of Directors reflect the wisdom and experience needed to lead management education through these challenging times.”

The recently elected officers and board members are:

Officers:

  • Andrew J. Policano, dean, The Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine (USA) to a three-year term, the first year as vice chair-chair elect.
  • Susan M. Phillips, dean and professor of finance, The George Washington University School of Business, The George Washington University (USA) to a two-year term as secretary-treasurer.

Board Members:

  • Fernando D’Alessio, director general, Centrum — Catolica Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Peru), re-elected to a three-year term.
  • Linda R. Garceau, dean, College of Business and Technology, East Tennessee State University (USA) to a three-year term.
  • Ellen J. Glazerman, executive director, Ernst and Young Foundation, Ernst & Young LLP (USA), to a three-year term.
  • Jaime Alonzo Gomez, dean and professor of strategy, Graduate School of Business Administration & Leadership-EGADE, Nacional Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey — Campus, Monterrey (Mexico) to a three-year term.
  • Thierry Grange, dean and director general, Grenoble Ecole de Management (France), re-elected to a three-year term.
  • Finn Junge-Jensen, president, Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), to a three-year term.
  • Linda A. Livingstone, dean, Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University (USA) to a three-year term.
  • Robert S. Sullivan, dean, Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego (USA), re-elected to a three-year term.
