Co-founded by members from several different business organizations on campus in 2010, UC San Diego Business Council is a student-run organization that brings together all the business clubs and fraternities across campus. Business Council aims to provide a sense of cohesiveness among these various organizations and encourages the collaboration of the different members in order to introduce infinite opportunities for networking and professional development among students. Among the many things that Business Council does, the most esteemed event that we host in collaboration with the UC San Diego Career Services Center is the annual Industry Networking Night. At our first Industry Networking Night hosted in the fall of 2011, we provided more than 400 students with the opportunity to network with over 50 employers representing many top-tier companies, such as Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton and Qualcomm. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to get involved.
The Undergraduate Accounting Society at UC San Diego is here to help students, peers, and curious individuals expand their knowledge of accounting and the accounting profession. This past year we have had a wide range of speakers present to our students including Deloitte, Qualcomm, Life Technologies, Cubic, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, California State Auditor, and more. In addition, we have fundraising events and social events so you can meet people in your accounting classes. From time to time we also host professional development workshops to help our students differentiate themselves from the crowd and explore different accounting pathways besides attaining the CPA license. Community outreach is also an important part of UAS and we participate in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and teach high school students at the Preuss School how to be financially responsible. We welcome all levels of accounting students and encourage you to learn more about UAS. Check out our website or feel free to email us for more information.
The Undergraduate Investment Society strives to empower UC San Diego students and the San Diego community with financial literacy and investment knowledge to create successful future leaders in the business world. We implement this goal through provision of financial seminars, networking events with industry professionals, and mentorship to high school students through our philanthropy, MoneyThink, and to students of UC San Diego through our sister organization, the Financial Professionals Network. We are proud to host the school's largest annual finance conference, the Financial Horizons Conference, in which each year has seen an increase of professional, student, and alumni attendees. The Undergraduate Investment Society holds the highest standards for its committee members, meetings, and events to ensure that quality is consistent with the expansion of the organization's success.
