The Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego is pleased to welcome Michael Reher, Mario Milone, Rachel Gershon and Zhe Zhang as incoming faculty members for the 2019-2020 academic year. These new academics will join Rady School’s current top-ranked faculty in bringing expertise to the areas of accounting, marketing, finance, innovation, technology and operations.
Zhe Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon University, and will join as an assistant professor in innovation, technology and operations. He holds a double undergraduate degree in economics and mathematical and computational sciences from Stanford University. He previously worked at Facebook and the nonprofit organization, Datakind.
Rachel Gershon will join as an assistant professor of marketing and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in consumer behavior from Washington University. She holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy, neuroscience and psychology and a minor in public health. Her research interests include consumer judgments and choice, prosocial behavior and corporate social responsibility.
Michael Reher is currently completing a Ph.D. in economics at Harvard University and will join the Rady School as an assistant professor of finance. He holds an undergraduate degree in international economics from Georgetown University. His previous work experience includes the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Wealthfront and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Mario Milone, a visiting researcher from the Imperial College Business School in London, will join as an assistant professor of accounting. He recently obtained his Ph.D. in finance from Universite Paris-Dauphine and holds a M.R in finance, a M.R in artificial intelligence and a M.E in computer science. Before coming to the Rady School, Milone was also a lecturer at the Universite Paris-Dauphine in programming, corporate finance and computer science.
The new faculty will teach in the Rady School’s MBA, Master of Finance and Master of Professional Accountancy programs.
