Peter Hill,
Director Career Connections

Peter Hill joined the Rady School of Management team as Director, Rady Graduate Career Management Center in May 2019. He oversees all aspects of career development for graduate business students and alumni of the following Rady programs: MBA (full time, flex weekend and flex evening), Master of Finance and Master of Science in Business Analytics.

In this role, he continues to build upon existing corporate relationships, strategizes new partnerships on and off-campus, creates and executes on Rady recruiting activities - all to increase the visibility of Rady students and alumni in the local, regional, national and global community. Successful outcomes include supporting start-up ventures, students successfully accepting internships and job offers, and an increase in year-over-year statistics for the Rady population.

 

 

Jeanette Meliska-Romero

Jeanette Meliska-Romero,
Employer Relations Manager & Career Consultant

Jeanette joined the Rady School of Management team in 2016 as a career consultant and Employer Relations Manager. She currently works with graduate business students, who are earning degrees in Business Administration (MBA), Finance (MFin), and Business Analytics (MSBA).  Jeanette brings over 10 years of career counseling and professional development experience to help students define, pursue, and achieve their professional and personal goals.

Jeanette holds a B.A in Anthropology from the University of Redlands and a M.S. in Counseling from Cal State University, Long Beach. Jeanette specializes in advising international students, students with disabilities, and adult learners. She is highly skilled in resume and cover letter reviews, job and internship searches, interview techniques, career exploration.  Jeanette is also a certified interpreter of the Strong Interest Inventory Assessment, and experienced in interpreting the MBTI and CareerLeader assessments.

Kathy Self

Employer Relations Manager & Career Consultant

Kathy Self joined Rady School of Management in October 2015 to support graduate students in navigating the job search process. Kathy is a dedicated career development professional, skilled at assisting individuals with identifying strengths as well as leveraging experiences and contacts to target career opportunities. She is passionate about empowering candidates through the development of key job search skills, including interview techniques, networking strategies, and resume construction.  Kathy received her Master’s in Career Counseling at the University of San Diego and Bachelors in Public Affairs at Wells College.  During the 10 plus years she has worked in career advising she has prepared and connected hundreds of students with employers and taught courses as well as seminars on numerous career development topics.  She is a certified Meyers- Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) facilitator and qualified to administer the Strong Interest Inventory and Career Leader assessment tools.

 

Linda Kurtz

Rady Flex and Alumni Career Consultant

Linda Kurtz joined the Rady School of Management Graduate Career Management Center in May 2015 to support the FlexMBA program students and Rady Alumni. In this role, Linda partners with students and alumni on crafting a career vision and developing career strategies for achieving career goals.

Linda is a certified Career Coach and credentialed Human Resources professional. She is a Gallup trained Strengths Coach. She has worked with a variety of organizations and professionals representing Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, technology firms and start-ups facilitating talent acquisition, performance management, and career development. As a Career Coach, Linda works with individuals and small groups providing personalized coaching, tactics and strategies for thriving and moving forward. Linda is passionate about connecting to a career path that matches personal values and interests. Linda earned her business degree from SDSU and coaching credentials from both Chapman and UCSD. Linda volunteers with non-profit organizations serving the underemployed in San Diego and speaks at professional networking forums on career related topics.
