Master of Science in Business Analytics Capstone Projects
Rady’s Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) is a world-class, AI-Assisted and STEM-designated degree program focused on applying modern data science tools to solve real-world business problems.
Blending the core principles of the Rady School of Management with modern AI tools and concepts, Rady students are consistently tested in their ability to communicate value, work as a team, and perform deeply technical analyses to enhance their leadership skills. This is all done while applying their in-depth training in mathematics, machine learning, and statistical techniques.

Rady’s MSBA prepares students for the challenging task of deriving insights and extracting value from vast quantities of structured and unstructured data. At the core of the MSBA curriculum is the Capstone: a team-based learning experience that gives students the opportunity to conduct real-world analytics projects using data from sponsoring organizations while being guided by our esteemed faculty.
We are always looking for industry partners to join our Capstone and take advantage of our student's talent and training to transform your data into actionable insights. You can sponsor a student team to work on your organization's real-world problems and gain their expertise and specialized training in statistics and data science to help your business grow.

Leverage state-of-the-art technology in AI like ChatGPT with our “AI-Assisted” curriculum and other advanced mining systems and access the impressive analytics talent pipeline and world-class faculty from the Rady School of Management.

- Process unstructured publication and citation data from the web to identify emerging influencers within specific domains
- Use marketing data to identify key themes in buyer patterns across digital marketing channels
- Use census data from the web to identify underserved, high growth regions for insurers
- Forecast price changes in specific product categories due to economic signals that may affect shortages and surpluses
- Improve forecasting models to increase supply chain efficiency, optimize inventory costs, and beat current models with more advanced algorithms
- Evaluate loyalty programs to discover specific buyer profiles to deliver better engagement and improved customer experience
