Rady School of Management Announces Seven New Faculty for 2016-17 Academic Year
The Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego will welcome seven new faculty members to the school for the 2016-17 academic year. The new faculty join the Rady School’s current top-ranked faculty and will bring expertise in Economics, Finance, Accounting and Marketing.
The new faculty are: Bradyn Breon-Drish, Assistant Professor of Finance; Michael Callen, Assistant Professor of Economics; Eric Floyd, Assistant Professor of Accounting; Kanishka Misra, Associate Professor of Marketing; and Richard Townsend, Assistant Professor of Finance. In addition, the school will be welcoming Krisztina Büti, Assistant Adjunct Professor of Finance and Michael Melvin, Academic Coordinator, Rady Master of Finance.
"The current Rady School faculty have been internationally recognized for the breadth and quality of their research, as well as being exceptional educators,” said Rady School Dean Robert S. Sullivan. “These new faculty will bring their exceptional talents to the already extraordinary group of Rady School faculty."
The new Rady School faculty join the school from some of the most prestigious universities in the U.S. Breon-Drish comes to the Rady School from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford University; Büti is from the Eccles School of Business, University of Utah; Callen comes from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University; Floyd comes from the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University; Melvin comes from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley; Misra comes from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan; and Townsend comes from the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College.
The new faculty will teach in the Rady School’s MBA, Master of Finance and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs. In addition to the seven new faculty joining the Rady School, Hans Christensen will be a Visiting Associate Professor of Accounting for the 2016-17 academic year. Christensen joins the Rady School from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.
