The Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego has been recognized in the top 10 in the U.S. for entrepreneurship and innovation by Bloomberg Businessweek. Full-Time MBA alumni from 126 business schools were surveyed by Bloomberg Businessweek as part of its annual ranking of business schools. The publication asked alumni to evaluate their school by the strength of its alumni network, reputation, academic quality, entrepreneurship, and innovation. When compared to other business schools in the U.S., the Rady School ranked 7th in innovation and creativity and 9th in entrepreneurship. The Rady School was the only school ranked in the top 10 in San Diego.

“This ranking demonstrates that the Rady School is delivering on our goal of providing a top quality education in innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Rady School Dean Lisa Ordóñez. “Our Lab to Market core sequence uniquely prepares our students to excel in the innovation economy.”

Innovation and entrepreneurship are hallmarks of a Rady School education, with curriculum focused in these areas throughout its Full-Time and Flex MBA programs, Master of Finance, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Professional Accountancy, and undergraduate minor programs. The school’s dedication to innovation and entrepreneurship extends beyond the classroom to its centers of excellence. The school’s California Institute for Innovation and Development (CIID) provides students with real-world entrepreneurial experience through its StartR accelerators, Triton Innovation Challenge, Rady Venture Fund, Rady Innovation Fellows and Rady Idea Challenge. Innovation is a central tenet of the school’s Center for Executive Development, Beyster Institute, Center for Business Analytics, Center for Social Innovation and Impact, the U.S.-Israel Center on Innovation and Economic Sustainability and the Institute for Supply Excellence and Innovation.

The Rady School was founded with the strong support from the San Diego business community, who recognized a need for innovative, entrepreneurial managers to lead the flourishing tech and life science industries in the region. In the 16 years since its founding, the school has exceeded expectations, with over 180 operational companies founded by alumni, contributing over $2 billion to the local and global economy.
