Orientation and program start dates will be finalized shortly. For planning purposes students can anticipate:

- You are no doubt excited to start classes in the fall! Incoming students do not need to register for fall classes until August 2023. All students are guaranteed a spot in their core classes. More information about courses and registration will be emailed to you over the summer.
Official Documents
Official documents are due by the start of the program in August 2023 and are to be submitted directly to the Graduate Division Admissions office (not the Rady School Admissions team). Submission instructions are provided on the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs website. You may submit documents now but are not required to do so until later. The Graduate Division Admissions team reviews official documents in late spring.
It is best to get your documents turned in as soon as possible to avoid any holds on your account after the winter quarter.
MBA Math Self-Preparation
Prior to the start of your program, you will be completing a Rady math BootCamp, but we highly encourage you to take courses provided by MBAMath.com as a refresher.
Tuition & Financial Aid
U.S. citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to qualify for federal aid. Federal aid includes federal student loans. UC San Diego’s school code is: 001317

Campus ID Card & Photo Submission
You will be given your UCSD Campus ID Card at orientation. Instructions for how to submit your ID card photo, along with the deadline, will be communicated to you during the summer. Students will not be able to take a photo at the Campus ID Card Office. Once you are given your UCSD Campus ID card, you will receive a number of discounts with the card.
I-20 & Visa Process – International Students
I-20 and visa paperwork are handled by the International Students and Programs Office (ISPO). The Rady School does not issue I-20 paperwork and is unable to advise on immigration issues.
UC San Diego uses a system known as iPortal for I-20 services. iPortal will open TBD. The UC San Diego International Students & Programs Office (ISPO) will begin reviewing submitted I-20 applications at that time.
You must first accept the admissions offer via the application platform before beginning the I-20 request process. Please allow 7 business days after receiving this deposit confirmation email to set up your UCSD password and log in to iPortal. I-20 document processing time will be 15 business days upon receipt of a complete application.

UC Health Requirements
The University of California is committed to protecting the health and well-being of all students. All of the UC campuses implement procedures to ensure that students are educated about and receive
vaccinations to prevent potentially serious and contagious diseases. All incoming students are required to review and meet the UC Health Requirements.
Incoming students do not need to submit health requirements at this time; more information about submission will be provided in spring 2023.
UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP)
Health insurance is a mandatory non-academic condition for enrollment at UCSD. To ensure that all students have adequate health coverage, UCSD automatically enrolls all registered students into the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP). Please click here to learn more about waiving UC health insurance. Please note: Students must wait until they are registered for classes to begin the process of waiving UC SHIP. More information about class registration and UC SHIP waivers will be sent to you this summer. The deadline to submit this waiver is September 20th, 2023. If you miss this deadline you can submit your waiver by September 25th, 2023 with a late fee.
Housing
Housing for graduate students at UC San Diego is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Incoming students are highly encouraged to apply for housing as soon as possible so that you can find accommodation appropriate to your budget.

Statement of Legal Residence
All incoming Full-Time MBA students have to download, complete and submit a Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) found here.
Attach your completed SLR in an email to residencedeputy@ucsd.edu with your name and PID in the subject line as soon as possible. Please note that you may not receive any notification back; this is ok! The Residence Deputy will notify our team about 6 weeks before the start of Fall quarter.

- There are seven weekdays and two weekend days. Plan on taking off from work for the entire seven weekdays.
- These are fun and full days; plan on events from morning to evening
- You will be taking MGT 406: Leadership, Values and Team Management in an exciting and intensive format
- Orientation is Mandatory
- You are no doubt excited to start classes in the fall! Incoming students do not need to register for fall classes until August 2023. All students are guaranteed a spot in their core classes. More information about courses and registration will be emailed to you over the summer.
- Flex Evening classes begin Thursday, September 28th, and will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm- 9:30 pm each week. A group dinner is served at 5:30 pm.

UC San Diego BLINK is a site you will use a lot for various issues that will pop up over the course of your tenure here at Rady. There is a search box front and center that if you use it, can cut down on a lot of scouring many sites.
Blink has a great Campus Life Section created just for students that can inform you of all of the amazing resources available to you as a UC San Diego student. Being in Rady is like being in an entrepreneurial organization with a very deep collection of resources. Check it out!
And YES, UCSD has a LOT of systems to navigate. Get these down early before you are introduced to class management tools later this summer. They will become second nature.
