Tim Schwartz

Executive Director, Sullivan Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

As executive director of the Sullivan Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Rady School of Management, Tim Schwartz provides guidance and oversight for the center’s programs for innovation leadership and entrepreneurship across UC San Diego. He collaborates with colleagues at the Rady School and across the campus to provide students access to multidisciplinary training, experiential programs and venture creation accelerators. He facilitates entrepreneurship by connecting students to practice-based learning opportunities such as working in community startups and UC San Diego projects.

Prior to assuming his leadership role at the Sullivan Center in 2021, Schwartz was co-founder and inaugural executive director of UC Santa Barbara’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Management. He created educational and experiential programs; built integrated networks of alumni, donors, investors and domain experts; and assisted in the launching of several startups. Schwartz has also worked at startups, and managed corporate relations at UC Berkeley’s College of Chemistry and UC Santa Barbara’s College of Engineering. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from UC San Diego.
