Dominique Meyer has multiple degrees from UC San Diego. He also now has an Edison Award.

Meyer (BS '16, PhD '21) is the founder of Looq, a company redefining the creation of accurate 3D models at industrial scale. The company earned gold in the Critical Human Infrastructure - Intelligent Modeling category of the 2023 Edison Awards

"This award recognizes the world's most innovative products and business leaders and is normally won by large private and public companies," Meyer said in an email to Looq employees. "Looq distinguished itself through the scale of impact in our society's ever growing need for better and more resilient infrastructure."

Looq's hand-held camera and integrated cloud platform make it easy to create geometrically accurate, geo-referenced models. The team at Looq has leveraged the power of images to redefine how you create sub-centimeter 3D models at industrial-scale. This is achieved using Looq's fully automated AI, giving customers the increased ability to analyze data in a way that meets every surveying, electrical, infrastructure and construction project’s need.

Established in 1987, The Edison Awards™ is among the most prestigious accolades honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation.
