Karlo Teran received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and a Master of Business Administration from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Karlo is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in Real Estate Private Equity and Private Equity in various industries.
Karlo has held several roles throughout his professional life, among which we can mention:
- Senior Associate at Bain&Company in the United States, Mexico and El Salvador, participating in the aerospace and defense, airlines and insurance industries, carrying out growth strategy projects such as the business plan and revenue model of Jetmex (eventually Volaris).
- Senior Associate at The KOR Group Los Angeles, a company specialized in Real Estate Development in the Hotel sector.
- Summer Intern at the Real Estate and Private Equity Area; California, United States Public Employees Retirement System (“CALPERS”).
- Special Projects and CFO at Investment Placement Group in San Diego, California.
- Co-Founder Juanfutbol.com and Tiki Taka (Digital Agency).
- Managing Director at Discovery Americas Private Equity Mexico, where he negotiated and closed the company's first investment in the Financial Services industry in Arrenda +, as well as other important acquisitions such as Medica TEC 100, Residencias Villazul and AMCO Education.
Karlo Teran is currently CEO of a Latin American Family Office; CEO of Monro Capital, a San Diego-based real estate investment firm; Member of the board of Tiki Taka, Grupo Centura Alimentos & Finbaja, Advent Mexico (Advisory Board), Cemenquin and Monro Capital, Inc; and co-founding partner of Perdura Partners, which Trademark Carriage Services, a company specialized in funeral transportation services.
In addition, driven by his strong commitment to social progress, Karlo is the Co-founder and host of Mi Programa Financiero (“My Financial Program”), a podcast aimed at helping people better manage their personal finances. He is also a member of México en Movimiento (MEM), a network of business leaders promoting collaboration and economic development in Mexico, and of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) San Diego Coastal Chapter.
