Kenneth F. Kroner (retired) was a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee, where he was responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars of active investment portfolios.  Prior to that, he was an economics and finance professor at the University of Arizona.

Ken serves or has served on various academic, foundation, and corporate boards, as well as academic journal editorial boards. In 2020, he established the Kroner Center at UC San Diego (now the Kroner Koenigsberger Center), which brings the power of academia to real-world investment issues faced by asset owners globally (pension funds, foundations and sovereign wealth funds).

Ken served as the global chair of UC San Diego’s recent capital campaign, which raised over $3 billion in philanthropic gifts, and is currently the co-chair of International Justice Mission's $750 million effort to end human trafficking.  His family’s philanthropic work focuses on higher education and social justice/forced labor causes.
