Peter G. Preuss

President and Founder, Preuss Foundation*

Peter G. Preuss, MA ’67 is the former president and founder of Integrated Software Systems Corporation (ISSCO), a leading supplier of computer graphics software, which he led from 1970 to 1986, when it was sold (Nasdaq: ISCX).  He is a Regent Emeritus of the University of California having served on its board from 1993 through 2008.  He is the President of The Preuss Foundation for Brain Tumor Research, a private foundation specializing in support of research and fostering communication among scientists.  He has served a term on the Advisory Committee to the Director of the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC. He also serves or has served on the boards of The Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute, The National Brain Tumor Foundation, Duke University Cancer Center Board of Overseers, the Board of Overseers of the University of California, San Diego, Board of Overseers, Dartmouth Medical School, and the California Council on Science and Technology. He is a past president of the University of California, San Diego Cancer Center Foundation.  He has been on various high-tech and bio-tech boards, such as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute and is a member of the Board of Overland Storage, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVRL), and GPC Biotech AG.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Oberwolfach Foundation, which oversees the Mathematical Research Institute Oberwolfach.
