Equity, Diversity, Inclusion. Pick one of these words and tell us what it means to you.
Diversity is crucial to becoming a well-rounded human being. Understanding perspectives that are different from your own are what allows us to grow and learn. Rady is an amazing place to learn from people of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
Can you share with us a time when you felt supported by someone in the Rady community (classmate, instructor, staff, etc.)?
The Veteran community within Rady has been particularly helpful for me as I transition from Active Duty to the civilian world. Veterans like Will Lu, Taylor Stechmann and Sean Anderson have all been extremely supportive and continue to guide me towards success.
Choose a (course/program) at Rady that left an impact on you.
As a Marine Captain and helicopter pilot, I have taken a multitude of leadership classes throughout my career. The leadership class offered at Rady is by far the best one I have ever taken. From the $20 bill experiment to the Personal Development Plan, this class will absolutely stick with me for years to come.
How has your time at Rady impacted your career ambitions?
Transitioning from the military is a difficult process for anyone, but Rady's community and resources have eased my worries tremendously. From other students serving as potential referrals, to guidance from the Career Center, and the weight that my MBA will carry, the path has been made easier. I feel more than confident that I will successfully find my next step, and use the tools I've gained from Rady every day.
Beyond your professional life, what brings you joy?
My passion outside of work and school is Martial Arts, specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / Mixed Martial Arts. My New Venture Design group is looking to build a service that helps connect people with a Martial Arts Academy that best matches their needs. I'm thankful that Rady is able to help me bridge my education with something I love.
