Ping-Chieh Huang

Ping-Chieh Huang's research examines how incentives stimulate business innovation and improve overall outcomes on data science related platforms. Her primary expertise is in game theory, machine learning, GenAI technology and its applications to the context of product and service innovation. Recently, her job market paper “Designing Data Science Contests: The Role of Training vs Test Splits” was selected as the first prize winner in the 2025 POMS PITM Best Student Paper Competition. She was also a recipient of the 2025 UC San Diego Academic Senate Barbara and Paul Saltman Excellent Teaching Award. She was an associated instructor of business project management, where she taught undergraduate students how to manage projects with emphasis on AI, related software and real-world applications. Additionally, she served as a teaching assistant for a series of MBA and MSBA courses, such as AI-Assisted Customer Analytics; Operations, Information Systems and Data Analysis; and Supply Chain Management. Prior to joining the Rady School, she obtained an M.S. in Statistics and an M.S. in Management from Arizona State University, and a B.S. in Economics from Soochow University.
