Christopher Girand

For more than ten years, Christopher Girand has taught a variety of graduate courses in accounting and finance at the business schools of University of California, Irvine, University of San Diego, and Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. He teaches courses such as: Financial Statement Analysis; Valuation in Corporate Finance; Equity Analysis; Fixed Income; Finance Capstone: Applied Finance Project; and Preparing for the CFA at Rady. Girand is a hands-on instructor using experiential learning to guide student understanding of complex material.

Girand also lectures at the San Diego CFA Society on all subjects related to CFA and is a research contributor to Value Investors Club, a private research group sponsored by Gotham Capital Hedge Fund in New York City. He is past president of the San Diego Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) and was awarded a charter from the CFA® Institute in 2014. He is active in the industry, managing financial accounts for high net worth individuals, and draws ideas and discussion topics for class discussion from his private investing experience.
