Harold Buchanan

Harold Buchanan brings 30+ years of industry experience in trading, M&A, strategy, and operations to the classroom. He began his career in Houston as a Senior Manager-Strategic Consulting at Accenture before moving on to Enron North America. Mr. Buchanan held the positions as Vice President and Head of Trading and President and Chief Operating Officer for Enron North America during his ten years working there. He relocated to San Diego to serve as Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Sempra Energy. Mr. Buchanan was Founder and Managing Partner of CE2 Capital Partners. He is currently a Senior Advisor for Energy Capital Partners, a leading investor in power, renewables, storage and sustainability, and decarbonization infrastructure. He spent seven years on the board of directors and as Chair of the Audit/Finance Committee for the board of directors of the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology, one of the world’s largest non-profit biomedical research organizations.

Mr. Buchanan has taught undergraduates and graduate students at Rady since 2016.
