Robert Campbell

Robert Campbell has recorded over 45 years of leadership, innovation, and success for companies in seven diverse industries—ranging from start-ups to multinational firms. Up through the mid-1990’s, he amassed extensive experience in the financial services industry, wherein he advanced through the ranks from bank teller, loan officer, and branch manager, to product manager, department/division head, and lastly, Chief Operating Officer of a billion-dollar bank. Campbell has senior management experience for a worldwide bank, a bank holding company, community banks, savings institutions, and California’s second-largest insurance brokerage. In this initial segment of his career, he helped create the credit card, ATMs, and the variable rate mortgage. Using his foundational experience in commercial banking, he has successfully turned around multiple troubled companies.

Campbell has been teaching for the undergraduate program at the Rady School of Management since Spring of 2012. He has developed curricula and taught business courses at the University of Phoenix, the National Graduate School (for the U.S. Coast Guard), California College of San Diego, Palomar College, University of San Diego, and UCSD Extension, along with guest-lecturing at San Diego State.

Campbell is also the Head Coach of UC San Diego’s Speech & Debate Team; Head Coach of “Adwave”, UC San Diego’s nationally competitive marketing club; the Faculty Fellow for the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and he serves in the college student “mentor” programs at three universities.
