Jo Dee Jacob

Continuing Lecturer of Innovation, Technology, and Operations

After a distinguished 27-year naval career, Ms. Jacob served as Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts San Diego (2001-2016).  She led 120 professional staff who supported 40,000 regional Girl Scout members, managing a $10 million annual budget. San Diego HBS Alumni Association sponsored Ms Jacob to attend Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspectives Non-Profit Management. She was selected as LEAD San Diego’s 2015 Visionary Awards Graduate of the Year.

A former Federal Executive Fellow at American Enterprise Institute and a Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group member, she authored Beyond the Hoppo Ryodo, Soviet-Japanese and American Relations in the 1990’s.

In 2016, Ms. Jacob began teaching MGT 167: Social Entrepreneurship at Rady School of Management, and has taught it every academic year thereafter.
