John C. Anderson

John C. Anderson is a Professor Emeritus of the Fowler College of Business, Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy at San Diego State University and has taught undergraduates at Rady since 2010. He earned his BBA in 1978 at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and gained professional experience at the Federal Reserve, United Information Systems, and Individual Assurance Company. Anderson returned to school to earn an M.S. in Accounting in 1983 and a Ph.D. in 1987. He entered academia, first teaching at Arizona State University and then Virginia Tech, before moving to San Diego State University in 2001.

Anderson has published in a variety of academic journals, including Behavioral Research in Accounting; Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory; Accounting, Organizations and Society; The Journal of Accounting and Public Policy; Advances in Accounting; and Advances in Accounting Information Systems.

His research is designed to assist auditors in their use of decision aids, particularly in the application of analytical procedures, and he has received research awards from KPMG and the California State Society of CPAs. He also studies alternative work arrangements and ethical behavior.
